Para comemorar o quadragésimo aniversário da Renault Sport (braço de projetos esportivos especiais da Renault), a marca francesa criou o endiabrado Clio RS-16 Concept. O bólido que foi desenvolvido em apenas cinco meses, ganhou motor 2.0 turbo de 275 hp herdado do Mégane RS Trophy 275-R. A incrível máquina desenvolve torque máximo de 36 kgf.m.
O mais veloz RS >> Para explorar plenamente o potencial deste potente motor, o Clio RS-16 vem com sistemas de chassis e suspensão desenvolvidos para corridas. Com carroceria alargada em 6 cm e equipado com rodas de 19 polegadas, o modelo foi concebido com um design arrojado com o objetivo de tornar-se o carro mais veloz da Renault Sport atualmente.
Exibição >> Decorado com as mesmas cores dos Renault de Fórmula 1, o RS-16 teve a sua primeira aparição pública no Grande Prêmio de Mônaco, ocorrido no final de semana passado (28 e 29/5). O Clio RS-16 dá continuidade à uma tradição iniciada com outras versões do modelo que fizeram bastante sucesso, em especial, o Clio V6, adorado por fãs do mundo inteiro.
Adaptações >> Além das restrições de tempo envolvidas na conclusão do trabalho, os engenheiros da Renault Sport identificaram que o maior desafio seria posicionar corretamente o motor, a caixa de câmbio e o sistema de arrefecimento, ambos retirados do Mégane RS Trophy 275-R. Como solução inventiva, a equipe decidiu compartilhar peças de produção comum de três modelos da Renault: Mégane, Kangoo e Espace. Tudo foi solucionado a tempo, alcançando-se um equilíbrio geral do esportivo.
Escapamento >> Outro elemento-chave de performance foi o sistema de escapamento. Tudo foi revisto e assim adotaram para o Clio RS-16 um “4 em 1” desenvolvido especialmente pela marca Akrapovic. O sistema eletrônico teve que se tornar híbrido, fundindo soluções técnicas do Mégane RS Trophy 275-R e do Clio RS; dessa forma, os freios ABS e o controle de estabilidade passaram a funcionar perfeitamente.
Finalização >> Após solucionados todos os detalhes técnicos e eletrônicos básicos, partiu-se para a decoração e adoção de equipamentos periféricos. O modelo ganhou amortecedores ajustáveis, freios Brembo com discos de 350 milímetros, eixo traseiro do Clio R3T (versão de rali do Clio RS), bancos concha em fibra de carbono com cinto de seis pontos, alargadores de fibra de carbono nos para-lamas, novos para-choques em Kevlar e fibra de carbono e forração em tecido Alcântara. O banco traseiro e o sistema de ar-condicionado foram suprimidos a fim de aliviar o peso geral do veículo.
Peça rara >> Expressando níveis extremos de performance, o Clio RS-16 já nasce como objeto de desejo de colecionadores. A máquina vem equipada com pneus Michelin Pilot Sport SP2 e será exibida pela segunda vez na Grã-Bretanha, durante o “Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016”. RS-16 Concept: the spicy Renault Clio 2.0 turbo of 275 hp! >> To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Renault Sport (special sports projects arm of Renault), the french brand created the puckish Clio RS-16 Concept. The bolide that was developed in only five months, gained 2.0 turbo engine of 275 hp inherited from the Mégane RS 275-R Trophy. The incredible machine develops maximum torque of 36 kgf m.
To fully exploit the potential of this powerful engine, the Clio RS-16 comes with chassis and suspension systems developed for racing. With an enlarged body in 6 cm and equipped with 19-inch wheels, the model was designed with a bold design with the goal of becoming the fastest car of Renault Sport currently.
Decorated with the same colors of the Renault F1, RS-16 he had his first public appearance at the Monaco Grand Prix, held on the last weekend (28 and 29/5). The Clio RS-16 continues a tradition begun with other versions of the model that made quite successfully, in particular, the Clio V6, adored by fans all over the world.
In addition to the time constraints involved in the completion of the work, the Renault Sport engineers identified that the biggest challenge would be to position correctly the engine, the gearbox and the cooling system, both taken from the Mégane RS Trophy 275-r. As inventive solution, the team decided to share pieces of common production of three models of Renault: Megane and Espace, Kangoo. Everything was solved in time, reaching a general balance.
Another key element was the performance exhaust system. Everything was revised and thus adopted for the Clio RS-16 1 “4/1” specially developed by Akrapovic. The electronic system had to become hybrid, merging technical solutions of the Mégane RS 275-R Trophy and Clio RS; in this way, the antilock brakes and stability control started to work perfectly.
After solved all the technical details and basic electronics, for decoration and adoption of peripheral equipment. The model won adjustable dampers, Brembo brakes with 350 mm discs, Clio rear axle R3T (rally version of the Clio RS), carbon fiber shell banks with six-point harness, reamers, carbon fiber fenders, new bumpers in Kevlar and carbon fiber and Alcantara fabric lining. The rear seat and the air conditioning system were suppressed in order to relieve the overall weight of the vehicle.
Expressing extreme levels of performance, the Clio RS-16 is born as object of desire for collectors. The machine is equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport tires SP2 and will appear for the second time in Britain during the “Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016”.
