A inglesa Aston Martin refere-se aos seus carros com tanto preciosismo que diz, por exemplo, que o novo modelo DB11 “não é fabricado e sim, feito…”. O requintado esportivo (que custa cerca de US$ 210 mil lá nos EUA) acabou de ser exibido no recente Salão de Genebra, na Suíça. A maior novidade é que, pela primeira vez em 103 anos de existência da marca, um Aston Martin sai de fábrica equipado com motorização turbo. O belíssimo bólido traz um propulsor V12 twin-turbo de 5.200 cilindradas. A unidade desenvolve força máxima de 608 hp e incrível torque de 70 kgf.m! A aceleração de 0-100 km/h divulgada pelo fabricante é de apenas 3,9 segundos e a velocidade máxima (limitada eletronicamente) atinge o patamar espetacular de 321,8 km/h!
A marca britânica mantém a tradição de construir, aliás, “fazer” artesanalmente os seus carros com estrutura interna e carroceria em alumínio muitas vezes moldado à mão. O DB11 recebeu tratamento especial nas questões aerodinâmicas e agora possui uma gestão de fluxo de ar muito mais eficaz tanto na parte de cima quanto embaixo do veículo. Há, por exemplo, um extrator de ar por dentro dos arcos das rodas e a marca desenvolveu, também, uma espécie de ´spoiler virtual´ alimentado por discretas entradas de ar localizadas na base de cada coluna “C”.
Evidentemente que a alta performance e a ferocidade à flor da pele, é que são os elementos fundamentais desse veículo. O novo motor V12 turbo de 608 hp, além de doar um desempenho estonteante, também entrega eficiência de consumo de combustível. Um sistema inteligente administra o comportamento do propulsor em todas as faixas de rotação. Em velocidade constante de cruzeiro, um banco de cilindros é desativado. Ao mínimo toque no acelerador, a unidade sai do esquema ´6 cilindros em linha´ e retorna ao clímax de 12 cilindros em “V”.
O projeto do Aston Martin DB11 é todo novo: chassis, suspensão, direção e arquitetura eletrônica foram repensados para explorar de maneira mais eficiente as vantagens da nova estrutura interna e carroceria, ambas em alumínio. Para administrar os 608 hp, a marca optou por uma caixa de câmbio automática de 8 velocidades da alemã ZF, assim como outros aspectos do esportivo foram desenvolvidos em conjunto com o parceiro técnico Daimler AG, também alemão. O ronco do motor V12 pode ser ampliado ou diminuído ao simples toque de um botão no painel, assim como os níveis de condução (GT, Sport e Sport Plus) também são administráveis ao gosto do condutor.
