A britânica Aston Martin acertou a mão mais uma vez na fabricação de outro modelo esportivo. A chamada ´família 17MY´ gerou mais um filhote com características excepcionalmente especiais. O novo Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, bólido com motor V12/6.0 de 573 hp de potência, acelera de zero a 100 km/h em apenas 3,9 segundos e atinge a velocidade máxima de 205 milhas por hora, cerca de 330 km/h!
Perna de cachorro >> Com o intuito de resgatar a essência dos carros de corrida mais clássicos, o fabricante oferece como equipamento de série o câmbio manual de 7 marchas. Um detalhe interessante dessa transmissão é o posicionamento da primeira marcha, que fica alojada na esquerda e abaixo, dando início ao caminho (das outras seis marchas) dispostas num tradicional “duplo H”.
Como curiosidade, os ingleses apelidam essa posição da 1ª marcha de “Dog-Leg” (perna de cachorro). Na opinião da Aston Martin, a adoção desse tipo de transmissão manual enfatiza o caráter dinâmico do modelo.
